Senior SW R&D engineer, Linux Kernel, Tel Aviv, Israel

Description

We are looking for a motivated and skilled software engineer that will take a key role in the development of our core data path, building and orchestrating a linux based storage stack. In your role you will be solving complicated linux kernel issues and thus allowing volumez to provide the best storage solution in the market.

Responsibilities:

  • Locate performance bottlenecks within Linux drivers as well as other components and suggest/implement enhancements to meet target performance goals
  • Contribute to the linux kernel community to commit new features and fixes
  • Provide architectural guidance and fresh ideas how to tackle kernel problems
  • Add new features and operations to our data – path.

Requirements:

  • BA or BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or comparable experience
  • +2 years experience in linux device driver development – advantage to block devices
  • +4 years experience in C coding language and software development
  • Familiar with enterprise linux distros (red hat, ubuntu etc)
  • Experience in kernel research while understanding linux internals and subsystems (Memory, IO, storage etc)
  • Fast learner and a team player
  • Innovative person with excellent problem-solving skills

SaaS Cloud Engineer, Tel Aviv, Israel

Description

We are looking for an innovative SaaS Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and manage cloud computing applications and services for our business.

Our ideal candidate is someone who understands our unique business needs and can provide effective solutions with OOP and clean architecture orientation.

Responsibilities:

  • Defining and managing cloud applications and services required by our solution.
  • Design and implement end to end Backend Micro Services.
  • Maintain and enhance our CSI driver for K8S.
  • Collaborate with professional members from the other engineering teams.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in a programming language such as Golang, C#, C++, Python (Golang is
    preferred)
  • In depth knowledge and experience in Object Oriented Programming and design patterns.
  • 3+ years of experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on
    AWS/Azure/GCP platform utilizing Clod services.
  • Hands on experience with Docker and container orchestration
  • Experience in designing & implementing distributed applications; Advantage.
  • In depth knowledge and experience in web services, REST and GRPC.

Responsibilities

  • Execute manual test cases to identify software defects and ensure product quality.
  • Document test results, defects, and issues in bug tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managers, to communicate test results and drive issue resolution.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of test plans, test cases, and testing documentation.
  • Participate in test case reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes.
  • Learn and apply software testing best practices and methodologies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies related to software testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3 years of experience in quality assurance role.
  • Strong technical background with expertise in Linux.
  • Strong technical background with expertise in Cloud Compute & Network
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and QA methodologies.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience with bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship or coursework in software testing or quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, Cypress).
  • Technical background with Storage, K8S.
